dlb lookbook

 dlb design, 2019 lookbook

dlb is an interior design company in Visalia, California, which I have been fortunate enough to do freelance work for over the past year. The style of the company leans more towards the modern side, so maintaining a sleek, but inviting look throughout the book was one of the main objectives.

Being in the design field, something that I’ve noticed is that not everyone can see the “final picture” initially—they need to be shown something (either on a screen or piece of paper) that they can say, “Yes! That is what I want!” to. So the idea with the lookbook is to have examples of previous remodels that potential clients can both look online, as well as physically flip through for inspiration when making impactful design decisions for spaces of their home.

The main thing I wanted to do when setting up this book was to categorize it in a way that would make sense for clients to navigate their way through. For example, if you are only remodeling your master bedroom and bathroom, you probably aren’t interested in looking through kitchens and living rooms. Having that said, the sections of the book are not categorized by the specific house (some clients did entire house remodels), but by the actual room/space that was updated. This way, clients can flip to the exact section of the book that pertains to their own remodel, and gain inspiration from those past projects. I also wanted show as many design aspects of each space as possible: furniture choices, light fixtures, unique tiling, etc.
